Merry Christmas

Hello dear friends.

I'm on the Scrap FX blog today sharing these 2 Christmas projects with step by step instructions. Yet I'd also like to share these with all of you on my personal blog.

My projects were inspired by the current @13arts Challenge. The challenge is to create a winter mix media project, incorporating the lyrics of your favourite Christmas Carols. I just love all the winter inspired cards and layouts this time of year and decided to join in the fun.

I started by adding modeling  paste to my  Vintage Artistry background  by  49AndMarket
using a  @13arts stencil. I embossed the stencilling using Tinby Metalic melts.

I layed out some chipboard and red flowers from 49and Market  I then decided to add a couple of white Flowers from my stash to balance the bright colour.

I lightly sponged my chipboard with a white   acrylic paint.

Next I added some embossing fluid and added Tinby Metalic melts.

I adhered clusters of the flowers, berries and tulle and splattered it all with white acrylic paint.  I then added 13arts Glitter Splash ink,  13Arts grit and 13 arts micro sferes.

I used the chipboard words to emphasize  and incorporate 2 of the 3 Christmas Carols and my photo to emphasize and incorporate  the 3rd.

I added :

Joy to the world

I believe in Christmas

All I want for Christmas is you.

I also created these ATC cards using the same techniques but for more steps check out the Scrap FX blog http://www.scrapfx.com.au/blog/?p=2652

  • The Christmas Carol in these cards includes the ever enjoyable Jingle bells. You know ...jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way... how much fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh... Surely you have it in your head now 😉

I hope you enjoyed your time here today. Thank you so much for for stopping by and please feel free to leave me any comments on your thoughts or time here.

More than Words Challenges December 2017

Hello dearest friends

It is the 1st of December and in 3 weeks we will celebrate Christmas. It's a wonderful time of year and though most of us are super busy scurrying around to get everything done it's such a great feeling to look forward to time with family and friends. Yes I have always been a fan of Christmas... How about you?

At More than Words Challenges we would like to challenge you to create something that relates to family and numbers this month. If Christmas doesn't inspire you, its all good. We would like you to create any layout or canvas inspired by the word family, but we would also like you to incorporate numbers as part of our creative challenge.

This was my take on the challenge and despite being my favorite time of year I did a very non-Christmasy layout :) See you can do this too.

I was inspired by this photo of mom and I. I try to go and visit my family every year just after Christmas and this photo was taken during one of those holidays. I wanted to add numbers in a meaningful way and incorporate this creative challenge into my journaling by replacing some words with numbers.

I fussy cut flowers from the gorgeous new Autumn Collection at 49 and Market and used it in combination with 49Market flowers, Scrap FX Chipboard and metal embellishments from Finnabair Prima Marketing a stencil from 13@rts stencil and word strips from Flutterby Designs.

Hope you are feeling inspired and would love to see what you create.  Make sure you play along this time by following this link for more info on the challenge and to check out what the rest of the team created for you.

Thank you for stopping by today and till next time have fun playing.
