Kraft Plus Challenge April

Hello there everyone

I hope you all had a good Easter Weekend. I am back from my holiday in Thailand and really happy to share my take on our brand new challenge at Kraft Plus this month.

As always our challenges are beautiful and fun but I think this one is extra special. We ask you to create a Kraft project including 4 elements: Something new, Something old, Something borrowed and Something blue. You can make any kind of project as long as it's Kraft and contain these 4 elements.

Here is my take on it:

I decided on making a card and absolutely loved it. It was like taking a trip through memory lane and putting stuff together I forgot I have. :)

Something old:

  • The yellow heart hatpin my aunt gave to me as part of a trinket box, full of stuff when the scrapbooking bug first bit me. She introduced me to this beautiful hobby and also gave me my first Scrapbooking memories magazine's. Yes this was while we still lived in South Africa and roundabout 14 years ago.
  •  The beads I strung. See before scrapbooking I used to dobble into beading and then I started gathering scrapbooking things. Really I thought I was scrapping but in effect I was just hording.

Something new:

  •  The new lazer- cut images and flowers  from 49AndMarket.
  • The beautiful new mixed media inks, glitter,  grit and wood veneer word from 13arts.

Something borrowed:

  • The resin embellishments. See my hubby and I both have hobbies. He makes knives which also means he sometimes cast resin for the knife handles. It's great because it means that I get to "borrow" his resin and equipment to have my stuff. And other times we use my mica powder for his stuff, though it's a good trade off I think 😉
  • I also borrowed a card design from a previous set of cards I made that was featured in Australian Simple Cards Magazine earlier this year.

Something blue:

  • The checkered blue card backing.
  • Blue flower at the bottom.

Come and join us this month and play along:

Thank you so much for visiting me today. I hope you enjoyed your time here and
Till next time have fun

More than Words Challenge March 2018 - Enjoy everyday moments

Hello my friends

Time has flown by so quickly and I am back to share my take on our new challenge at More than Words this month.

This month we ask that you create a project inspired by the word Comfortable and use at least 3 of the colours in the moodboard.

I was inspired by my love for coffee. There's few things that's almost always appropriate and coffee is one of those. Whether you are enjoying a cosy moment with a friend, with your favourite book or magazine, a business meeting, or a couple of moments to breathe when things are crazy, coffee always makes it better.

For more information on how to play along visit our blog at and check out the stunning work by my fellow team members.

I used this beautiful sheet of paper and these flowers from 49AndMarket.

I chose to use Scrap FX chipboard and coloured it with a mixture of 13@rts metallic paint and Colour duo powders and shiny powders.

I also coloured my mesh and some of my flowers with #13arts water ink and gesso.

Till next time have fun and enjoy creating.

Kraft Plus Challenge February 2018

Hello my friends

I'm back today sharing another exciting February challenge. This time it's Kraft Plus. This month we are taking a trip down memory-lane and we ask you to create any Kraft based project inspired by the group ABBA. You can use any of their songs, lyrics, graphics on the challenge image that relates to your project.

I was inspired by the song, Take a chance on me. I remember having a discussion when we first started dating. We were both so young and new to the whole dating game. With no idea where it would take us, I remember him saying "let's see if it's a week it's a week if it's a month it's a month if it's more, it's more... let's see..." It is 18 years later and on 14 February this year we will celebrate our 14th wedding aniversary. Definitely one of my best decisions ever

Please come and join us this time and play along. You can create a card, an OTP project, a journal page, a layout, whatever you wish, as long as us use kraft paper and inspiration from our challenge. For more informtion and inspiration from the rest of the team visit

Till next time have fun

More than Words - February 2018

Hello dear friends

My oh my it's February already. How fast did January go by? The first also means that it's time to share some beautiful new challenges with you. First up today is the More than Words challenge.

  • February is associated with Valentines day, hearts and love and this month our inspiration word is Forever. What does this word inspire you to create? What does it remind you of? Together with this, we also have our creative challenge where we need you to use  a heart somewhere in your project. Yes, so we ask that you add a heart whether it be a stencil, embellishment or even a hand-drawn heart, we need to be able to see it.

So this is my take on our challenge.

February is always a very special month for me. FOREVER is a reminder that on February 14, 2004, my words to this handsome man was 'I do'. This year, we celebrate 14 years of marriage and 18 years of love and companionship. To this day, my answer is still 'Yes, I will love you forever more'. For the creative challenge, I included the word HEART in each of my journalling phrases. I coupled it with little pink hearts in the 3 main embellishment clusters.

Follow this link more information on how to play along and see the wonderful creations by the rest of the team.

I hope you are all inspired and that you will play along with us this time.
Thank you for stopping by, but till next time, have fun creating.

More than Words Main Challenge January 2018

Hello dearest friends

I am back today sharing my take on our January challenge at More than Words. We are celebrating a birthday and as such we would like you to be inspired by the word birthday and somehow incorporate tags into your layout or canvas or art journal.

Birthdays reminds me of flowers and the fact that with each year a birthday comes around,  another year has passed. At the start of this year I think we need to remember to make the most of each day, to love, to live, to live and treasure the moments with those we love. So for the creative challenge and to journal my thoughts I incorporated mini tags with important words to live by.

Here are some close ups of my process.

I started adding gesso and shades of blue 13arts paint. I added 13arts Navy Rainbow Colour Duo. I stamped the background with my favourite Carabelle Art stamps and added some crackle paste through a 13arts stencil.

I added Scrap FX chipboard pieces, Ecru root and resin embellishments including my tags.

Now for more info on the challenge and how to play along visit us at

I hope you enjoyed your time here and would like to thank you for visiting today. I wish you all the best for the New Year and hope to catch up with you soon.

Merry Christmas

Hello dear friends.

I'm on the Scrap FX blog today sharing these 2 Christmas projects with step by step instructions. Yet I'd also like to share these with all of you on my personal blog.

My projects were inspired by the current @13arts Challenge. The challenge is to create a winter mix media project, incorporating the lyrics of your favourite Christmas Carols. I just love all the winter inspired cards and layouts this time of year and decided to join in the fun.

Scrap fx products used:
I started by adding modeling  paste to my  Vintage Artistry background  by  49AndMarket
using a  @13arts stencil. I embossed the stencilling using Tinby Metalic melts.

I layed out some chipboard and red flowers from 49and Market  I then decided to add a couple of white Flowers from my stash to balance the bright colour.

I lightly sponged my chipboard with a white   acrylic paint.

Next I added some embossing fluid and added Tinby Metalic melts.

I adhered clusters of the flowers, berries and tulle and splattered it all with white acrylic paint.  I then added 13arts Glitter Splash ink,  13Arts grit and 13 arts micro sferes.

I used the chipboard words to emphasize  and incorporate 2 of the 3 Christmas Carols and my photo to emphasize and incorporate  the 3rd.

I added :

Joy to the world

I believe in Christmas

All I want for Christmas is you.

I also created these ATC cards using the same techniques but for more steps check out the Scrap FX blog

Merry ATC's
