Cardmaker of the year 2016

Good morning lovelies

Today is a very special day. After what seemed like forever I can finally reveal the secret I have kept for more than 2 months...

Last year I decided to do something different. After noticing the competition in 2015 the idea started growing. I thought I might just give it a go...So in 2016 I entered Australian Simply Cards Magazine's Cardmaker of the Year.

I was so worried that my cards won't get there in time and was rushing to get the instructions done. So I thought oh well I tried and left it at that.

Then one afternoon before I went on leave I got a call... It was Tracey Orchard, Editor of Australian Simply Cards Magazine. I could  hardly believe it. She told me I won... "What really?" I stumbled upon my words and I may have asked her if it was for real. I may even have asked her to promise me that it's not a joke. I have been totally overwhelmed. So many amazing cardmakers enter each year. I look at their cards and am amazed by their skills with markers and intrigued folds. Really, what chance did I have?

All I can say is thank you to Practicalpublishing http://www.practicalpublishing.com.au/   from the bottom of my heart and thank you for trusting me to work with you this year. Thank you also for the sponsors Arnold's Scrapbook and Craft Store, and Art Deco Creations and Chameleon for a very generous prize pack worth $2500. I am super stoked.

Thank you also to Heather McMahon who supported and encouraged me to do more tags and cards when I first started. Sandra Wallace,  Beck Beatie and Michelle Grant for giving me opportunities to create for them and Vicki for asking me to teach at Scrap Matrix. Thank you believing in me from the very start and before I got on any other DT's. Thank you to my family and friends and their unwavering support. Love you guys. And last but not least Tim for all his inspiration techniques and 12 Tags of the year tutorials. He might not be aware but if it wasn't for the 12 Tag tutorials I may have never thought of myself as a cardmaker.

To see my entries and read more about my journey, you will have to make sure you get your copy of Australian Simply Cards Magazine Issue 104 on sale on the 16th of March. A few lucky subscribers have already received theirs :)

So with this news I leave you today till next time.

Xxx
